parpati

The word "parpata" means a thin crisp wafer. It is prepared by mixing Shu Parad and Shu Gandhak which forms a black color powder called Kajjali. The kajjali is heated which is converted into a thin and flat preparation. 

Actions of Parpati

It possesses the hot potency and thereby it improves appetite and digestion. Because of this nature, it metabolizes "aam" and thus helps in disorders like anorexia, diarrhea, dysentery, etc


Bol Parpati

Bol parpati is recommended for diarrhea associated with bleeding, bleeding piles, hemorrhagia, menorrhagia, etc. Some doctors mix Akik pishti and Trunkantmani Pishti with Bol parpati to get good results in menorrhagia. The use of boll bark constricts the blood vessels to arrest various kinds of bleeding.

Panchamrit Parpati

It is recommended for diseases like diarrhea, dysentery, and colitis. It works well in chronic colitis associated with anemia. It is considered the best among all the parpatis. It strengthens the digestive system and prevents intestinal diseases.

Ras Parpati

Rasa parpati is used mainly in chronic colitis, enteric ulcers, enteritis enteritis-related diarrhea, indigestion, colic, piles, etc.   Ref. Ras Tantra Saar-I pg 147


Shwet Parpati

Useful in the treatment of difficulty in urination, dyspepsia, urinary calculi, etc. This parpati is also known as Kshar parpati.
