Definition of Bhasma & Pishti

Bhasma refers to ultra-fine powders used in Ayurvedic medicine, which are produced through the calcination process. This process involves heating metals, minerals, and natural stones or gems at high temperatures to transform them into their oxide forms.


Pishti in Ayurveda is a medicine made from detoxified and purified drug substance that is ground in a mortar and pestle along with liquid medicine such as rose water.


Absorption and Assimilation of Bhasma & Pishti

Both Bhasma and Pishti is also fast-absorbing due  to its micro-fine particulates. Pishti has a gentler action than Bhasma.


Abhrak Bhasma Nischandra, 100 Puti & 1000 Puti

Abhrak Bhasma is useful in diseases like diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, asthma, cough, anemia, colitis, etc. It improves physical and mental strength, sexual power and immunity. 


Akik Pishti

Akik Pishti is indicated for general debility, heart weakness, feeling of excessive heat in the body, mental diseases, and excissive uterine bleeding in women. Akik pishti has the following properties:

*Antacid

*Cardiac and Brain tonic

*Anti-anxiety

*Anti-hypertensive


Godanti Bhasma 

It is extremely cooling, alleviates pitta dosha, arrests bleeding and cures hyperacidity. It helps in healing ulcers in peptic ulcer disease. It is a good source of Calcium, hence also given to children who have Calcium deficiency. Since, it has cold potency, it arrests bleeding in menorrhagia, piles, etc. 


Gomed Pishti

It is used to stimulate the appetite. It improves digestion and digests aam present in the body. It is beneficial to the skin, hence used in various skin diseases. 


Hajrul Yahud Bhasma & Pishti

It is used to treat urinary tract infections, urination problems, calculi, etc.


Hiraka Bhasma

Hiraka Bhasma is known for its rejuvenating property. It increases physical strength. In Ayurveda, it is considered as the best yogavahi. It works well in old age as a preventive as well as curative medicine. 


Jahar Mohra Khatai Pishti

Jahar Mohra Pishti is useful in diarrhea in children, digestive disorders like nausea & vomiting, burning sensation in the abdomen and heartburn, chronic fever.

It has shown great results in hypertensive patients, it brings down systolic pressure mainly. 


Jasada Bhasma

Jasada Bhasma is widely used in Diabetes mellitus, anemia and Asthma. Jasada Bhasma prevents formation of kleda in the body, hence it is useful in Diabetes, and oozing skin problems. Jasada Bhasma is used in ointments for external application for wounds, tonsilitis and in face pack for Acne. 


Kaharwa Pishti

Also called Trunkantmani Pishti. It is useful in bleeding disorders, by reducing body's heat. It is indicated in bleeding disorders like piles, excessive mentruation in women, diarrhea and inflammatory disease of the abdomen. 

It has following medicinal properties: 

*Hemostatic

*Antacid

*Astringent


Kapardika Bhasma 

Kapardika Bhasma stimulates appetite and improves digestion. 


Kanta Loha Bhasma 

Kanta Loha Bhasma is useful in the treatment of anemia, general debility, kamala, various types of shulas.


Kasis Bhasma 

Kasis Bhasma is useful in the treatment of eye diseases, fever, spleen diseases, etc. 


Kukkudandtvak Bhasma 

Very rich of Calcium, hence useful in Calcium deficiency. It is useful to build bony tissues, also works well in hairfall. 


Loha Bhasma & Loha Bhasma 100 Puti

Loha Bhasma is the drug of choice for the treatment of anemia. It is recommended for diseases like hepatosplenomegaly, menorrhagia, skin diseases of pitta origin. It acts as a general tonic and as a rejuvenative.


Mandur Bhasma

Mandur Bhasma is comparatively easy to digest and causes less constipation in comparison to Loha Bhasma. Mandur Bhasma is used in treating anemia associated with worm infestations, especially in children. Likewise, Loha Bhasma, it is used in curing hepatosplenomegaly, jaundice and skin diseases.
